The Unrefined Jagoff

April was a month. I’m trying to think of what to mention about it, but it was mostly rain, hail, snow, rain, and I guess a bunch of memory lapses.

We celebrated Ellie’s first Gotcha Day!

I didn’t get a lot of reading done this month, my brain is burned out. I started a few books that I didn’t feel like finishing, but here’s what I managed to actually finish:

It’s been a rough few years of losing influential and prolific musicians, and finding out Ryuichi Sakamoto had passed at the end of March was another heavy loss. Losing 2/3 of YMO within the first quarter of the year has really put things off to a rough start.

There’s still so much of his discography I haven’t heard, but I spent a lot of the beginning of April listening to the albums I do have.

Here’s this month’s playlist of my listening:

I listened to the self titled Alpha Ralpha album at least 15 times, a bunch of Seikima-ii, a ton of Masayoshi Takanaka, and I guess mostly a bunch of jazz and a little death metal.

I bought a bunch of cool vinyl from Japan too, and my only regret is that I spent way too much money on bills and crap on top of it.

Anyway, that’s about all I have for now, I’m sure I’m forgetting something, but my brain is tired.
